She suddenly felt like a young girl with a crush. To have him write her a note and leave flowers showed he was thinking of her. It was a sweet gesture. Inhaling the floral scent, she thought of all that transpired last night and wondered if the flowers were supposed to speak to that as well.

Diana did not want to make too much out of it. It was nothing more than a kiss. A smoldering, sexy kiss that was meant to blow her mind. It did exactly what he wanted it to do, if that was the case. She knew it was not an accident and Clay wanted to leave her thoughts lingering during the day of what could have been.

But Diana did not want to get too far into dreaming about what could have happened. It did not happen and that was alright with her. Things like this were better when they were taken slow.

The problem was that Diana was not sure there was actually something happening that would go anywhere. What if he was simply going with the flow of the moment? There was always the possibility he was just making her more comfortable with being with him. She could not get out of focus on the matter at hand. Clay Marshall was a billionaire who was single, therefore, he could have any woman he wanted, whenever he wanted.

He probably made all of the women he was with feel special like this. She reminded herself she did not need to put that much into the kiss, the private helicopter ride, or the weekend retreat at the resort. Clay was probably doing what he always did, wining and dining women and romancing them, making them fall in love with his lifestyle.

She read the note one last time. It made her smile. Sticking it back near the vase of roses, Diana was filled with optimism as she went back to her room to get dressed. There was no way she was going to be late for her massage and facial.
